Honour Choir - ‘ The beginning ’ 'Honour' was a large-scale outdoor performance, commissiond by Quays Culture to mark the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War. Onze-Lieve-Vrouwkerk Zeelaan De Panne Mandag 30 juli 2018van 15:30tot 17:30 uur - gratis concert Taking place in August 2014 at Salford's MediaCityUK, the event featured stunning projections on to a 100 metre screen, dance and theatre, alongside a specially-created superchoir of hundreds of singers brought together from across the region - all combining to create a powerful spectacle evoking the chaos of war and the devastation it wreaked. The choir performed a new piece of music by local composer, Andrew Smith for an audience of thousands in the MediaCity Piazza. It was an experience which will undoubtedly live long in the memory of everyone who took part - and hopefully the audience as well. The choir has subsequently performed at events across the region throughout the 14-18 centenary period. As well as bringing people together with a shared love of music, Honour choir has also enabled members and audiences alike to discover more about the War, and in some cases, its impact on their own families. The next and final steps in our journey are to share these stories with as many people as possible.
