4 ABOUT FEST FEST FOUNDER AND DESIGNER FEMKE FURNÉE I felt something was missing – and decided to fill this gap. “ I truly believe that a nicely decorated space can make you happy. But why is it so difficult to find well-designed furniture for a reasonable price? Seven years ago, this question turned my life around. While decorating my first apartment in Amsterdam, I was looking for design furniture for a fair price. This seemed almost impossible: my choices were limited to either mass produced furniture or unaffordable high-end designer brands. I felt something was missing – and I decided to fill the gap. I founded FEST in 2013: an interior brand that offers affordable, well-designed furniture and home accessories. Over the last years, FEST has grown into a brand with a clear identity. We have our own team of designers and frequently invite guest designers to design products or collections. Newcomers and oldtimers. Big names and talented freshmen. Together, we produce a collection that is affordable and high-end at the same time. Our aim is to democratize design. The FEST furniture collection is completely produced in Europe, the majority even within The Netherlands. I never thought it to be possible to produce affordable furniture in my own country. It makes me super proud that we have managed to find such great manufacturers so close to home. Our sofas and chairs can be ordered from our stock collection, or tailor-made to suit your wishes and budget. Apart from our basic fabric collection, we are able to provide you with the best quality fabrics by Kvadrat. So whether you are looking for a high-end feeling or just quality furniture for you and your family to live on… we have got you covered. We love to inspire, whether it is in our FEST stores, in a department store, at fairs, webshops, social media or in this catalog. Basically, on every level, we would like to persuade you to turn your home or office into a space you really like to be in. A space that makes you happy.”
