Circles & blue ink After completing the series of watercolor circles, compiled in the booklet “Cirkels & waterverf/Circles & watercolor,” I felt like continuing that combination of meditation and creation as a reflection on that experience. It was around the time my father gave me an old bottle of ink—the classic blue Pelikan ink we used to put in our fountain pens (it feels like an eternity ago). So I decided to start a new series of circles using that ink as my base material. Just as in the previous series, the circle only took shape once the emotional value of the experience could be translated into an image. Without words. The starting point was once again a circle, this time drawn on an A4. The creation always began with that blue Pelikan ink, supplemented with green ink, white gouache, pencils, etc., as needed. And most of them still incorporate a collage element. The order in which they were created is respected. 202506 to 202509.
