Galibi Nabij het Amerindische dorp Galibi stroomt de Marowijne-rivier uit de Atlantische Oceaan. Op ongeveer. één uur per boot vanuit het dorp ligt het unieke natuurreservaat genaamd: Babunsanti. Op de zandstranden van Babunsanti en Eilanti komen elk jaar duizenden zeeschildpadden om hun eieren te leggen (seizoen februari – augustus). ‘S Nachts is het mogelijk om deze unieke natuurverschijnselen te observeren: een ervaring die je niet snel zult vergeten. Oorsprong en algemene informatie Galibi is de verzamelnaam voor twee Indiaanse dorpen Christiaankondre en Langamankondre. In de slaventijd vestigden de eerste inheemse bevolking zich in dit gebied.
