Dutch artist and ceramicist Jacqueline Harberink explores complex, labour-intensive techniques that have been forgotten over the years and incorporates them into her porcelain after giving them a modern look. By using techniques including shellac and rice grain, as well as various self-prepared glazes, she is able to truly demonstrate the strength and versatility of porcelain. Jacqueline developed h er enthusiasm and passion for ceramics, and porcelain in particular, while studying at the Escuela de Ceramica di Moncloa in Madrid (Spain). She perfected her techniques by attending specialised ceramic and porcelain workshops in the Netherlands and Italy.
