Looking after the children makes us very happy’ ~ Ruban & Ranjeeta Managers Isai Ragam community center Ruban (born 1992) runs an Isai Ragam community center from his home. Every day after school and on weekends, 25 girls come to his center for homework assistance, music, dance, and play. Having lost his parents at a young age, Ruban lived in several boys’ homes before joining Isai Maiyam at the age of 13. He is now married to Ranjeeta, and together they have a son. Ranjeeta (born 2001) also lost both her parents as a child and grew up in children’s homes. As a teenager, she came to Isai Maiyam, where she met Ruban, who was then a warden at the boys’ home. In 2022, they got married. Although Ruban is Christian and Ranjeeta is Hindu, this has never been an issue for them. Whether it’s Christmas or Diwali, they celebrate everything together! 137
