We are still very eager to support the community and have the youth carry on what we have built’ ~ Ganesan Managing Trustee Isai Maiyam Ganesan (1962) is Managing Trustee of Isai Maiyam. He is married, has two daughters and one grandchild. Ganesan met Ivar in the 1980’s when Ivar helped him set up his leather and handicraft business in Alankuppam. To this day his leather-business is thriving. Twenty some years later, when Ivar wanted to start the Isai Maiyam Trust, Ganesan owned a peace of land and a building in Pondicherry for which he had no need. He sold his allotment to Ivar, who renovated the place and started He started a student house for underprivileged youth, which later grew into a children’s home. In 2005 Ganesan became Managing Trustee of Isai Maiyam. He works mostly in the background. He takes care of official business and is there to help if problems arrise. 14
