‘Why I do this work? It is my duty. It is my sevice!’ ~ Gopi Managers Isai Ragam community center Gopi (born 1980) is married and a father of two. He is an archaeologist who also runs an Isai Ragam community center in the evenings and on weekends, with his wife helping out as well. Gopi has known Ivar since childhood when Ivar would visit to sing songs with the children. The two have collaborated on various projects for years. When Ivar was away, Gopi continued the work voluntarily. Five years ago, Ivar and Gopi built a new night school in Pudupakkam village, right next to Gopi’s house. Over 30 girls come here daily for English and computer classes, homework assistance, and music lessons. There is a separate building for boys. 141
