SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS YARNS MADE FROM RECYCLED POLYESTER In addition to organic cotton, Santino also uses recycled polyester yarn made from recycled PET bottles, old clothing, and textile waste, among other things. Used PET bottles are collected through a mechanical process and processed into flakes. These flakes are then turned into splinters and converted into polyester fibres that are spun into yarns. The entire production process results in a 100% certified product. Fabrics, both knitted and woven, made from recycled polyester yarn are not only functional and comfortable, but also sustainable. In this way, we contribute to a circular textile chain and reduce our ecological footprint. By using recycled polyester and the associated GRS (Global Recycle Standard) and RCS (Recycled Claim Standard) certifications, Santino wants to guarantee the traceability of the recycled material in our products. GRS also monitors the social, ecological and chemical impact of production. A GRS label may only be used if at least 50% of the fabric consists of recycled material. 11
