Which colour light? Our luminaires offer a choice of different colour lighting. The most common colour for our path lighting is 2,700K, functional and atmospheric. If you prefer a little brighter (whiter) light, then 4,000 K is the preferred choice. The third option is to apply an LED module with amber-coloured light. We developed this module especially for environments where a lot of bats live. Bat-friendly Research and experience have shown that bats on their flight paths and in their habitats can be disturbed by artificial light sources. Especially light sources with a high content of ultraviolet and blue light are perceived to a higher degree by bats. This disrupts them in various ways. The same study has shown that bats are less sensitive to amber light with a wavelength of between 580 and 600nm. This hinders the bats less in their behaviour. For the TimberLab products, both lampposts and path lighting, the LED modules are available with an ambercoloured LED. 11
