WOOD We aim to use durable materials as much as possible for our products. The basis for all our products is wood. Wood is also our passion. We use larch/douglas, chestnut, cumaru, Accoya and oak wood as basic types of wood. In consultation, we are open to possibly processing other sustainable materials and different types of wood. Larch/Douglas Origin: The Netherlands and Germany Larch/Douglas wood is particularly durable due to the large amount of resin that it naturally contains. These European coniferous types of wood are becoming more and more appreciated by architects for their durability (class III), processing capacity and the high availability. Larch/Douglas is highly suited to construction. In particular for patio roofs, fences and decking or garden furniture. We only supply our larch/douglas products in combination with a base support so that the wood doesn’t come into contact with the ground. This makes our products last even longer. Chestnut Origin: France, Italy Chestnut wood is a beautiful, robust material. The wood is naturally very durable and falls under durability class I-II. Chestnut wood is highly durable because it contains a lot of tannic acid in the (core) wood. The wood of the sweet chestnut is fine fibrous and very resistant to moisture. It is very suitable for manufacturing fences, garden furniture, bridges and for coastal fencing support posts. It is a type of tree that grows fairly quickly and still produces hard wood. In some parts of Southern Europe, ‘coppice culture’ has existed for more than two thousand years. Due to the rotation time of the coppice (15-20 years), only a limited area is cut from these regions, in order to maintain a diverse biotope. 6
