Deze positionering helpt mee in het bepalen van de mogelijkheden voor het verdienmodel. Voor het project is onderzoek verricht aan de hand van een tweetal casussen: ‘Voedselbos Schijndel’, nu het grootste voedselbos van Nederland en het concept van Stichting Phien, waarbij een gezin zo veel mogelijk zelfvoorzienend kan wonen en leven rondom 1 hectare voedselbos. De inzichten uit deze twee projecten zijn vervolgens doorvertaald naar een meer generiek model.
